Tips for using Ziplet:
Resources to share:
Q: If there are multiple trainers in a class, will my colleagues be able to access the same class?
A: Classes are synced on a first come, first served basis. However, you may invite other trainers or leaders to a Ziplet class through the “Manage members” option.
Q: Will students be notified in Canvas of any new questions sent through Ziplet?
A: No, students do not receive notifications via Canvas. They will, however, receive an email notification to their student email and if they are using the Ziplet mobile app, they will receive push notifications when new questions are released.
Q: Do I need to add or update student details with the integration?
A: Ziplet will automatically manage students for you in line with the course enrolment in Canvas. As students are added or removed from Canvas, this will automatically be picked up and updated in your Ziplet classes as well.
Q: If I want to ask questions across multiple units, can I do this via Canvas?
A: As Ziplet in Canvas is tied to each course shell, you cannot ask questions across multiple units from within Canvas. if you wish to ask questions across multiple units at the same time, you can do so via your www.ziplet.com account. Just make sure to login via Microsoft.
Q: Do I need to invite students to my classes?
A: Once you import classes in Canvas, they will automatically be available to students enrolled in your class. As students leave your class, they will also automatically be removed from your Ziplet classes.
Q: What is student and trainer pulse?
A: In addition to allowing you to run check-ins with your students, Ziplet also enables leaders to run student and trainer surveys to obtain feedback - known as the student pulse and teacher pulse respectively.
Student pulse
A quarterly student learning experience survey usually comprised of 3-4 questions asking students about their learning experience at Swinburne. Responses are available for course area leaders to view, allowing targeted improvement of the student experience.
Teacher pulse
A twice a year survey, the teacher pulse allows Swinburne trainers to share their feedback on their experience as educators at Swinburne and share what improvements they’d like to see. Responses can be answered anonymously, with course area managers seeing responses to guide improvements in their area. Guidance on completing the teacher pulse can be found here.
